As posted earlier NCFS is now a designated Child and Family Service organization which is defined as a front-line service agency requiring staffing to support our children and families in need.
Niijaansinaanik has a rental agreement with Magnetawan First Nation to occupy the designated land that the office trailer resides on and as such must access their business office.
Niijaansinaanik staff will only enter onto the First Nation to access the office location and MFN gas, convenience store, and Horton’s practicing all COVID-19 safety protocols.
Please accept their presence in our community and extend them a warm welcome.
Today – April 1, 2021 marks a historical achievement for NCFS, they have been recognized as a designated Child Welfare Agency! This designation will allow NCFS to assume responsibility for Indigenous child welfare matters for the six First Nations and for all Indigenous children and families served by NCFS’s provincial counterparts in these geographic areas. NCFS has been providing 24/7 child and family services for the following First Nations: Magnetawan, Wasauksing, Henvey Inlet, Dokis, Shawanaga, and Wahnapitae since 2019.
