Carol Wheatley - Band Manager
Chief and Council are pleased to announce that Carol Wheatley, a member of Magnetawan First Nation is the successful candidate hired to fill the vacated Band Manager position.
Carol commenced her employment as Interim Band Manager with Magnetawan First Nation on Monday, November 28, 2022, and now on board as our full-time Band Manager.
Carol’s 30-year professional career started in Toronto where she managed various businesses in large corporations overseeing profitability, sales, marketing, retail management, brand development and strategy, and leading and coaching teams at all levels of these organizations.
She spent 10 years at Shoppers Drug Mart as Senior Director for their Murale luxury beauty banner, and prior to joining Shoppers Drug Mart, she worked at Sears Canada for 10 years as Vice-President and General Merchandise Manager running the omni-channel business for Cosmetics, Accessories, and Jewellery which encompassed 123 retail locations, catalogue and e-commerce.
Carol also held positions as Cosmetics Buyer at T. Eaton Co. Ltd and on the packaged goods side of the beauty business as Marketing Director, Brand Manager, and Regional Sales Manager.
Carol furthered her education with Business Admin courses through the Humber College Adult Education program, Leadership and Marketing at the Schulich School of Business at York University, mentorship program at WXN Top 100 Women, and various professional development courses throughout her career.
Carol is thrilled to be home and working to support the community as Band Manager.
